May, 2010: Sandy Phillips to Attend George Washington Teachers' Institute Ensworth Elementary's Sandy Phillips is one of a select group of American teachers who will attend the 2010 George Washington Teachers' Institute at Mount Vernon, Virginia this summer. Teachers accepted into the institute receive a travel stipend and reside on the grounds of Washington's home for the week of study. Congratulations Sandy! |
May, 2010: Outstanding High School Business Educator Bend Senior High School's business teacher, Kristen Torkelson, was named the 2010 Outstanding High School Business Educator by the Oregon State University's College of Business and the Portland Tribune and Community Newspapers. She teaches marketing and oversees the Bend High DECA club. |

April, 2010: Oregon's Elementary Principal of the Year
R.E. Jewell Elementary School's Bruce Reynolds is named Oregon's Elementary School Principal of the Year. The award is the top honor given by the Confederation of Oregon School Administrators. He'll compete for the national award, which will be made next fall. |
April, 2010: Oregon Association for Career and Technical Education Administrator of the Year Bend Senior High School principal HD Weddell was named the Oregon Association for Career and Technical Education Administrator of the Year. |

Pilot Butte Middle School's Pat Roberts was named the Oregon Art Teacher of the Year by the Oregon Art Education Association. She has been with Bend-La Pine Schools for 16 years. Pat is an innovator, leader and inspiration to staff and students. |

August, 2009: Bend-La Pine Schools Teacher of the Year La Pine Butte Middle School's Kelly Beaudry is named the Bend-La Pine Schools' 2009 Teacher of the Year. Kelly has been in education for 14 years, most recently teaching 6th grade at La Pine Middle School. She is known as the "Smart Board Lady" around the district for her use of a variety of instructional technology tools. |

Rexford recently obtained the designation of Registered School Business Administrator from the Association of School Business Officials International. The Professional Registration Program promotes quality school business management and encourages excellence among its practitioners. ASBO International's Professional Registration designation is one of the highest honors of professional achievement in the field of school business management. |
