The PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) for all college bound juniors and college bound sophomores who have a 3.0 GPA and are currently enrolled in geometry, will be given on Saturday, Oct. 18th at Summit High School. The cost for the PSAT is $20.00. Sophomores: please be advised that it's best to have completed Geometry BEFORE taking the PSAT.
The PSAT is divided into verbal, math and writing skills. This test is a preparation for the more widely known SAT test. College bound juniors will take the SAT this spring in May or June. The test results can be used by parents/students/counselors as a guide for college selection. The PSAT is also a first step for the National Merit Scholarships.
PSAT SIGN-UP INFORMATION:
Sign-up for the PSAT begins on Wednesday, Oct. 1st, FOR JUNIORS ONLY. Sophomores can begin sign-ups on Friday, Oct. 3th, after 4pm. All sign-ups end at 11:00am on Wednesday, Oct. 15th. This is an OBSERVED DEADLINE. There is a limited number of spots available so sign-up early.

Step 2 ~ After payment is made, take your receipt to Julie Plummer, Counseling Secretary, and receive the PSAT Student Guide that includes a practice test.
PARENTS: Please allow your student the responsibility to sign-up for the PSAT.
The day of the test, Oct. 18th: Arrive at Summit at 7:30am to obtain your room assignment, be in your testing room by 7:45am and testing starts promptly at 8am. Late students will not be allowed into the testing room and test fees will not be refunded so please be early!
